Vinyl Car Stickers

There were many limitations with car stickers, including size and shape, up until the late 1990's.

Modern innovations in digital printing have allowed advertisers to create better car stickers than they were ever capable of before. Digital wraps, or sometimes just called wraps, are definitely more eye catching, much larger, and much easier to read. Designers now have greater freedom in creating a campaign that works, as well as the ability to use the size and shape of the car as part of their design elements.

There were many limitations with car stickers, including size and shape, up until the late 1990's. One limitation was that these stickers could only be applied to flat surfaces of a vehicle. These stickers were not very durable, fading very quickly in some parts of the country. Additionally, the color of the car was sometimes visible right through the sticker.

You can think of a vehicle wrap as a sticker for the whole vehicle. These stickers are applied with a heat-activated adhesive after being printed onto thin, slightly stretchy, sheets of vinyl. Vehicle wrap installers start from the back of the vehicle and carefully apply the vinyl strips so that you get one seamless image. Whether it is graphics, text, or both, what you will see in one advertisement over the entire surface of the car.

Some small businesses still prefer to use the smaller car stickers. Additionally, large firms with a large fleet of company cars may find wrapping the entire fleet too expensive. Another reason to use traditional car stickers is for temporary advertising, as vehicle wraps require both professional installation and removal.
